NEWLAND Ozone Generator
Ozone (O₃) is a powerful and reactive disinfectant commonly used in water treatment. In water, ozone quickly reverts to oxygen (O₂), forming free oxygen radicals that are highly reactive yet short-lived. Ozone is generally used as a primary disinfectant to improve water quality. However, because it loses its effectiveness quickly, secondary disinfectants like chlorine or chlorine dioxide are required in distribution lines to ensure ongoing disinfection.
Ozone effectively removes odors, inorganic substances such as iron and manganese, as well as organic contaminants, drug residues, and pesticides present in water. When used in appropriate amounts, ozone provides effective chemical and microbiological disinfection. Chlorine disinfection can lead to taste and odor changes in water, while ozone, converting rapidly back to oxygen, leaves no residual. Unlike chlorine, whose disinfection efficacy decreases above a pH of 7.5, ozone’s efficiency is less affected by pH levels.
Ozone gas is produced by exposing oxygen molecules (Oâ‚‚) to high electrical voltage (8,000–15,000 volts). For this process, ozone generators use either atmospheric air or high-purity oxygen from oxygen generators. The most common applications for ozone generators are in drinking water treatment plants.
The Newland NLO series includes ozone generators designed to operate with low energy consumption, using both dry air and oxygen as feed gases.
- Liquid Oxygen-Fed Ozone Systems
Newland NLO series generators fed with oxygen can produce ozone concentrations of 0–270 mg/l. The lowest operating cost at a concentration of 150 mg/l can be achieved with a power consumption of 7.5 kWh/kg of ozone, a gas consumption of 7 Nm³, and 1.6 m³ of cooling water. - Air-Fed Ozone Systems
Newland NLO series air-fed ozone generators produce ozone concentrations between 0–70 mg/l. The lowest operating cost at a concentration of 35 mg/l requires a power consumption of 16 kWh/kg of ozone, a gas consumption of 16 Nm³, and 4 m³ of cooling water.
Newland NLO Model Ozone Generators have capacities ranging from 0.05 kg/hour to 200 kg/hour, placing Newland among the largest ozone generator manufacturers worldwide. With high ozone efficiency, compact design, and excellent performance, these innovative products have proven their superior quality in the industry.
