Mapro Side Channel Blowers
Side channel centrifugal blowers are industrial equipment with the most widespread use among low-pressure air suppliers. In many facilities, there arises a need for low-pressure air or vacuum due to process requirements. Side channel centrifugal blower technology meets these needs, providing sufficient capacity and pressure values. Compared to other low-pressure air supplying equipment, this technology is more commonly used in domestic applications.
The operating principle of side channel centrifugal blowers is similar to that of centrifugal pumps. A fan fixed to a shaft within the housing is driven at high speeds by an electric motor. During this rotation, pressure or vacuum is generated depending on the direction of the fan's rotation. As the fan rotates without contact between the fan and the housing, the air trapped between the fan blades is compressed, reaching the required pressure or vacuum level needed for the process.
Side channel centrifugal blowers are preferred for their features such as a lubrication-free design, low noise levels, vibration-free operation, pulsation-free air production, and low maintenance costs. Based on capacity and pressure values, side channel centrifugal blowers are divided into single-stage and double-stage types.
